Terms of service

These terms apply to RivalMap at rivalmap.tech and the RivalMap web app (the “service”), operated by RivalMap (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or buying credits you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. The service

RivalMap helps you understand the businesses competing with you in a location. It includes:

  • Competitor scan: a map of the businesses of a chosen trade around a point you pick, with their public rating and number of reviews. Viewing a scan is free.
  • My business: a comparison of your own business with the rivals around it.
  • AI review report: an analysis, written by an AI model, of the public reviews of the rivals in a scan, with follow-up questions. Reports are paid for with credits.
  • Vietnam business search: search and export of business listings in Vietnam only.

The business information in the service is information businesses and their customers have made public, such as names, addresses, categories, ratings and review text. RivalMap does not provide phone numbers or e-mail addresses of the businesses it shows or of the people who reviewed them.

2. Your account

  • You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, and able to enter a contract.
  • Use a real e-mail address and keep your password safe. You are responsible for everything done through your account.
  • One account per person. Do not open several accounts to collect free credits or offers more than once.
  • You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Deleting it removes your data and any credits left on it.

3. Credits and payment

  • The service is paid for with credits. Credits are sold in one-time packs or in an exact amount you choose. There is no subscription and nothing renews.
  • Current costs: a basic AI report is 1,250 credits, a deep report 5,000 credits, and each follow-up question after the three included with a report 500 credits. The cost of any paid action is shown before you confirm it. Prices are on the pricing page.
  • Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Lemon Squeezy, which is the merchant of record for all our orders. Lemon Squeezy takes the payment, charges sales tax or VAT where it applies, issues your receipt and handles returns. Its terms of sale apply to the purchase.
  • Credits do not expire. They have no cash value, cannot be transferred to another account and cannot be resold.
  • Refunds follow our refund policy. A report that fails to complete is refunded in credits automatically.
  • We may change prices for future purchases. Credits you already bought keep their value.

4. AI reports

Reports are generated by an AI model from public reviews and other public information about the businesses in your scan. They are an aid to your own judgement, not professional, financial or legal advice. AI output can be incomplete or wrong, and reviews themselves may be out of date or unrepresentative. Check anything important before you rely on it. Decisions you make based on a report are your own.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • resell, republish or redistribute data from the service as a data product, or build a competing service with it;
  • use the service to harass, threaten or defame any business, its staff or its reviewers;
  • use bots or other automated tools to extract data from the service, or to get around usage limits;
  • probe, disrupt or try to gain unauthorised access to the service or other users’ accounts;
  • use the service for anything unlawful.

You may use reports for your own business, including sharing them with partners, lenders or investors.

6. Intellectual property

The service, its software, design and the RivalMap name and logo belong to us. Review text and business information remain the property of their authors and owners. Subject to these terms, you may keep and use the reports you buy as described in section 5.

7. Businesses shown in RivalMap

If your business appears in the service and you want information about it corrected or removed, write to [email protected]. We handle such requests within 7 business days.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep the service running but do not guarantee it will always be available or free of errors. We may add, change or remove features. If we stop offering the service altogether, we will refund the unused credits on paid accounts.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. If we close your account for a reason other than a breach of these terms or fraud, we will refund your unused credits. You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time.

10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or business decisions that turn out badly, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The new version applies from the date shown at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will tell you by e-mail before it takes effect.
